Privacy policy
Last updated: September 11, 2026
Your workspace is stored on your device. Optional iCloud sync uses your private iCloud database. Zdo has no advertising or third-party analytics.
About this policy
This policy describes the native Zdo apps for macOS and iOS and this website. “We” refers to the developer of Zdo. For privacy questions, contact zdo.support@icloud.com.
Data on your device
Zdo stores projects, tasks, subtasks, tags, dates, reminders, completion history, quick lists, Markdown documents, and imported attachments in a local workspace. App preferences and unfinished capture drafts are stored locally too. Your workspace is not sent to a server operated by us.
Optional iCloud sync
When you enable iCloud sync, Zdo sends your workspace and imported attachments to Apple’s CloudKit service in your private iCloud database. Zdo uses an iCloud account identifier and sync metadata to keep accounts separate and merge changes. Sync requires an Apple Account and is subject to Apple’s privacy policy. Turning sync off stops future synchronization; it does not itself delete existing iCloud data.
Backups, exports, and deletion
You choose where to save backups and exports. If you choose iCloud Drive or another synced folder, that provider may upload the files. Backups can contain your full workspace and attachments. Automatic backups retain the latest 30 snapshots; manual exports and recovery copies remain until you remove them. Deleted items may remain in backups, recovery copies, or sync history. Uninstalling the app does not necessarily remove these files or cloud copies. For complete removal, also remove retained backups and recovery data and manage Zdo’s stored iCloud data through your Apple account or device settings. Contact us if you need help finding these copies.
Reminders and notifications
Zdo requests access to Apple Reminders only when you choose to import lists. It reads the lists you select and copies supported reminder details and source identifiers into your workspace. It does not change or delete the original Apple reminders. Imported data follows the same local storage, backup, and optional sync rules as other tasks. Notifications are scheduled locally through the operating system and may display task titles. You can revoke Reminders and notification permissions in system settings.
Documents and external links
Markdown previews use bundled libraries. Remote images are not loaded automatically. Imported images and attachments become part of your workspace. Clicking an external link opens your browser, where the destination website’s privacy practices apply.
Subscriptions and purchases
Apple processes payments through the App Store. Zdo uses StoreKit transaction and subscription information to verify access, restore purchases, and display subscription status. We do not receive your payment-card details. Apple may provide developers with sales reports and diagnostics according to your Apple settings and Apple’s policies.
Analytics and advertising
Zdo has no advertising SDKs or third-party analytics, and does not send app usage telemetry to us. We do not sell your workspace data or use it for advertising. Operating-system or App Store diagnostics that you choose to share with Apple are governed by Apple’s settings and policies.
Support messages
If you email support, we receive your email address and the information or attachments you choose to send. We use this information to respond and investigate your request, and retain it only as long as needed for support or applicable obligations. Email is handled by our email provider. You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information you have sent.

If the app’s data practices change, this page will be updated with a new revision date.
